About:
This teapot was made in one piece only. Each vessel/pot reflects potters mood/idea/thought, it’s not drawn beforehand, it’s made only at that moment, here and now, once made, once fired and maybe used for your lifetime.
The next finding of Jiri Duchek are these black teapots that are made of localy sourced, slightly irony clay. Jiri lives nearby the Džbán (in English The Jug) highlands. The body of the teapots are thrown on a pottery wheel, by hands of course, the sprout and the handle are modeled by hand.
The pots are fired in a strongly reduction enviroment so that most of the carbon is kept and shown in the final shrad and is not burnt out. This way the shard gets another interesting characteristics like its visible unique colouring and when touched a feeling that is very closed to a slate stone (a slate is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slate)
Some historical sources claim shard made this way have antiseptic, cleansing qualities.
The teapots are made of the few processes that give a way to achieve this kind of colouring by working with only natural sourced clay and without a secondary additions refined, man-made materials.
The taste of water or teas out of these vessel is mellow, soft, a bit suppressing bitterness in teas, a similar effect that is achieved by yixing duanni clay type teapots.
These pots requiry a special firing and they easily crack during firing so that its price is higher.
