A celadon cup with ingrained dried drops of tea. Celadon is a term for pottery glazed in the jade green celadon color, also known as greenware and a type of transparent glaze, often with small cracks that will be coloured by tea.
Why ingrained drops of tea? Just under inside edge of the cup there are visible a kind of tea stains, from tea drops. There was intended to be a decoration which faded during the firing process.
One might never be sure what happens with pottery fired in a woodfired kiln, also each spot in the kiln has its effects. Such pieces are rare and can’t be reproduced.
There are 3 these special celadon cups with this ingrained dried drops of tea.
