About this piece:
A cup that shape is oval, egg like, a kind of distorted on purpose or not. It creates a special experience while used.
This is a tiny cup, made by a hakeme technique used in the past in Japan. Using brush strokes on unfired clay vessel. On the right there is an old hakeme cup from Japan.
Drinking tea out of this cup makes a true natural taste experience, the cups clay and its glazing brings out the natural taste of tea, not altered, not changed in any way, a clean and pure taste. The combination of the right clay and glaze achieved the top tasting level among all the Jiri Duchek cups I tried already (of course this could vary from a person to person).
This cup will nicely age, showing very tiny glaze cracks and its overall texture will turn it into an unique gem.
Each piece of a batch of ceramics made in 2021 will have one additional photo. These images are taken during a visit of Jiri Duchek from its surrounding, nature, simply places where he lives and creates his pieces.
