About this piece:
It has been maybe a year since I put online any rye teapot. It happened to be that I visited Jiri after 7-8 months again. I got a few teapots from him, rye ones, kohiki and also cracking glaze ones.
This teapot got a nice load of heat and fire, and ash, especially the shiny is particular. Also the pour is impecable.
This teapot clay contains a bit of locally sourced kaolin clay which is used for porcelain. The tea made of such a teapot has round, mild and pleasant taste, similar taste as achieved by pure porcelain teapots. The unglazed fired shred will be slowly aged and change its color. Each teapot has an unique shape, size, fire marks. The teapot surface is very smooth and nice to touch. The inside of the teapot is not glazed.
