Douji, a company that I met (visited) back in 2009. The ‘boss’ Mr. Chen Hanbiao made at that time on me a great impression. Using traditional ways of producing teas, focusing on old tea trees maocha and openly, honestly talking about teas. He even acknowledging that his ‘arbor/gushu’ cakes are not purely old tea tree material, he said its hard to source such pure tea leaves in larger quantities.
These Youle, Naka and Jingmai comes from that year. The quality of Douji cakes a bit declined in the following years so I a kind of lost connection with their ‘next’ cake productions. Also I want to express big thanks to Mr. Chen for storing my cakes (refering not to these 3) for some 7 years without any fee. Such a great man. Tea brings good peole together.
These cakes were stored for all these 12 years here in Slovakia, they keep much of their great scale of flavours and scents. There is a great chance to compare all 3 as their aging is noticable different. Concluding that one of the aging factors is the material quality (where it comes from, how it was processed (depends also on the weather)). The storing enviroment is rather dry still giving the cakes some humidity do develop slowly but keeping more of their flavours and scents.
