Name: GǔShù Mansa Huangpian
Year: 2020
Weight: 250 grams
Country of origin: China, Yunnan province
Details:
pure naturally defined taste, light astringency lingering sweetness, old tea tree feel, easy drink, a lot of brews
in the past I was not making huang pian or yellow leaves but since I tried and occasionally I drink such from the Big Green Tree Yiwu 2011 I became fond of them, they are uncomplicated, light tea drink to help digestion, clear the mind and leisurely sip tea for hours, if you don’t might light astrigency then it might be a nice tea for you,
these tea leaves are mostly unrolled, bigger and older leaves separated from the nice ones before pressing them into cakes, these leftovers are called yellow blades as some are rigid and resemble a blade of some cutting tool, these are made of spring 2020 Mansa picked from old tea trees with added a bit Pang Xie Jiao (crab’s feet herb), the cakes are nicely pressed even of these naughty leaves
Pang Xie Jiao are picked/collected, growing on old tea trees are lately pretty expensive, these are from Bada mountain, from my experience they help the body to ‘digest’ the tea better, they also a kind speed up the maturation/ageing of tea
