There will be from 1. July aplied new rules for charging EU VAT rates that will be chosen according the billing country. The other (Non. EU) countries will get the product prices (inc. SK VAT) that are shown in the shop. The EU countries, if other than 20% VAT will have the adjustment made during the checking out process. This change is still in a testing stage so apologies and possibly report any weird calculations.
About this piece:
This is a ‘simple’ iron tool used for dismantling pressed pu-erh shapes. It’s light, easy to use (although with a bit of skill and care).
The shape of the blade is created to have one tool for all kinds of pressed pu-erh teas and for all kinds of hardness. The blade is forged/hammered in several layers that makes the final piece really hard. There are used several types of steel, at least three. The layers and types of steel create unique patterns on the blade. The blade goes from thick to thin in direction of the tip of it. This will help to penetrate hard pressed cakes, bricks, tuo-chas. The blade is forged using wooden charcoal created by the blacksmith. He uses waste oak cuttings from the nearby manufacture. These are also used in the current batch for their handles. The use of these scrap materials make the final piece, a composition recycled particles made into a ‘crafty’ tool.
The brass ring holding the blade in the handle is also hand made by the blacksmith.
The wooden handle is made of oak strips. The shape of it is created to have better handling during its use. Handles differ from piece to piece. You may hold it and press it easily by your palm of the hand. Also when used by both hands you may knock on it, one hand holding other using for pounding.
This ‘pu picker’ comes with a small leather pocket.
Miro Váradi has skills for more than 30 years of forging iron knifes, weapons, interior design furniture, house gates and many other things.
Check out this short movie about Miro Váradi. This short movie was shot during forging the first model of pu-erh knife.

Nožík prešiel a stále prechádza vývojom.
Pozrite is krátke video s výroby prvého modelu pu-erhového nožíka.
