The wet leaves are frangrant, no storage disturbing/foreign smells, the rinse water is sweet, the 1st brew comes strong, heavy and already rich in taste, nuts in the aftertaste, pure mouth feelign, 2nd comes stronger, capturing all the taste buds, 3rd similarity to other 2 younger puerhs , taste gets more softer, refined, more enjoyable, 4th bitter dominates, used 8grams/100ml water, I would say tasty bitterness for me, in some later brews a sweet cake like feeling, a cake with nutty liquor like hint
old tasting notes:
Oldish cupboard feel, a kind of antiquity that is reflected even in taste until one bears at least a 3-4 brews, those accompanied by by again old bitterness and hints of sweetness, then around 5th brew sugary sweetness will hit your palate, comes out of nowhere and it is even felt at back throat. Then some nuts come up along with ripe fruits.
2nd tasting notes from March 2022, the cupboard is gone, rather wild notes in the air, a kind of classical scent in the pitcher whirling, a deep bitterness that keeps accompanying many steeps, a clean feeling of lightness although, this time no such heavy sweetness rather light fruityness
This cake comes for Veyan’s production that was produced by his father, a venerable ‘tea teacher’, in terms of growing and making tea. He used to teach on several universities and seminars all over east Asia.
This tea was produced in 2014, using the spring tea leaves of the oldest tea trees. These tea cakes were stored the whole time, almost 8 years locally in Thailand in Chang rai mountains.
This cake ever bears an organic sing, as all other teas from Thai production, I have tested twice his teas and it came out all clean out of 500 pesticides tested
