Name: Gushu Lao Mansa danzhu ’25
Year: 2025 spring
Weight: 250 grams pressed cake
Country of origin: China, Yunnan province
Details:
this year Lao Mansa is gentle and smooth, a lot of deep forest notes found in it, it has a lot of depth and so that good ageing of it is expected
a light tingling Qi, pure and water like quality with the first short brew, only the Qi reveales something to come, the next come with vegetal sweetness and thicker texture, realizing that great depth could appear even without any significant taste, here comes a third thick tea soup with exotic woods notes, this tea is something indeed, juicy and sweetisch with wild notes, a nice rural feel of distant smoke lingering in the air, thick and oily, an authentic old tea tree character,
this tea name remained as Lao Mansa (I was making this tea long time ago) althought it is from Yiwu ZhangJiaWang village, Mansa mountain was renamed to Yiwu mountain some 5-6 years ago, historically Yiwu was a part of Mansa mountain but then someone thought it would be more profitable to call the whole Mansa as Yiwu, anyway this Mansa and Yiwu ZhangJiawang tea come from a same farmer and the same mountain and there are similarities with original Yiwu but I would not call it an authentic Yiwu which of course does not mean to be worse or better
