Name: Lao Banzhang
Year: 2003
Weight: chunks (from a 1 kg cake/bing)
Details:
old swwet wood in 1 min rinse, a very rich and old bitter medicinal start of first real brew, the tea wakes up slowly, all these 22 already years of sleeping and aging, a subtle milk notes, a fruity notes in the cold empty pitcher, exotic wood like frankincense or myrha in a delicate condensed flavour, a multi facet aftertaste, long brews pulls out a lot of this tea and they won’t get ‘nasty’ but rich, the energy so nice, not that punchy that sometimes I can’t almost stand, simply lifts up the mind and the body at the same time
This tea comes from 1 kg cake made by Liming tea factory, subbranch called Ba Jiao Ting, it is the logo with the eight square pagoda like tower. In the moment only a loose ‘dismantled’ chunks are available. The cake is pretty expensive still can be order on request. The cakes contains also pang xie jiao (螃蟹腳) so called crabs feet which is a perennial herb. They say it helps ‘to clean the blood and to get meridians opened’.
