the first rinse brew of 1 minute tells it’s a real pure gem this tea, light and clear tea soup, a sweet frangrance in the first brew, a nice spicyness, a full mouthfeel, a bulang bitterness at the background, this bitterness is pretty tasty it like a tasty part of a general bitterness, there is noticable distinct bitter note in the aftertaste that I would contribute to Lao Banzhang, alongside a tiny tingling Qi, a very bulang sweet character with bitter edge, so good so nice, the longer the brews are the more strong the tasty bitterness gets, veery good, I love the nutty-woody-bitterness on the tongue with a strong distinct aftertaste
this tea comes from 1 kg bingcha that is packed in a colourful box that you might see in fancy airport tea shops or in fancy boutique like tea shops around China, still it is made by Bajiao Ting branch of Liming tea factory, it does not tell much about tea itself, the packaging and the added ‘cards’, not even saying it is gushu, still my friend Vic from Taiwan believes the large part of the tea is from Lao Banzhang, the good comparison could be with the Liming Bajiao Tin Cha Wang or Tea King of 2004, there is acknowledged the Lao banzhang as a part of the other two bulang villages, the bitterness and the fruity acidity in it is very similar to this tea, this hidden gem behind naming like Yunnan Big Leaf variety sun dried tea hidding such a gem, it is like someone does not want to show off what he is really drinking due to its scarcity and price, this tea is one of my favourites as the processing and leaves are top quality alongside the perfect storage and visible Lao Banzhang face makes a perfect puerh tea
