bitterness, a porcelain ware will bring out more bitterness until you like or yixing ware lowers it quiet a bit, this buddy aged already more that 20 years and it’s character is a bit tamed still wild giving Lao Banzhang enthusiast a nice punch, this tea was a big suprise (people were shocked by the first cup) even without knowing what it is on my last local tasting event, the whole body awakes instantly, this oily sweet bitter tasty tea soup, the bitterness without any off notes carries on with its long lasting aftertaste, this tea is a true essence of Lao Banzhang, Lao Man’e and other Bulang mountain villages, the energy in the body builds up and the mind gets lightly intoxicated, not an easy tea for Monday morning
Liming Bajiaoting factory’s Tea King used old tea leaves of Lao Banzhang, Nannuo Mountain and other Bulang mountain concealed place (due to the recipe secret). The tea is made in accordance with an ancient traditional ways. The tea leaves used are naturally fermented for three to five years, and then blended. There are 9 various ratios used to blend and the best is chosen. Then pu-erh tea cakes are pressed, dried and pu-erh tea/soup is made. They are compared and the best rated blend chosen and used. The 2004 year used is the date of pressing the tea cakes so the tea leaves itself are much older.
