this was another chance to compare three cups by Jiri Duchek, Matteo Bosisio and Wen Chiao Lin’s

first brew out of porcelain, a very fruity, juicy and sweet, is this mind/switch? selected a semi glazed new rye teapot by Jiri Duchek

duchek’s rye: bitter first, then nutty, a clean and pure
teo’s ming: haze/y, like fresh but without freshness crispyness, nutty
wen’s porcelain: a very straight and pronounced with soft undertone

duchek’s rye: sweet and nutty, mellow and round, balanced and friendly
teo’s ming: sweet and nutty undertone coming after warm bitterness, full taste, rich
wen’s porcelain: juicy sweety, fresh

duchek’s rye: this cup I would call ‘taming the beast’
teo’s ming: this cup name would be ‘showing the teeth of the beast’
wen’s porcelain: and this one would be ‘stripped down to all naked’

duchek’s rye: bitter-sweet friendly/tasty
teo’s ming: sharp and straight into your face
wen’s porcelain: very similar to ming’s but with a little bit elegance

duchek’s rye: restrained still tasty
teo’s ming: prolonged aftertaste with fruity background
wen’s porcelain: more depth and clarity

duchek’s rye: moderate taste
teo’s ming: full flavours with depth
wen’s porcelain: balanced

foot note: this tea is indeed strong so until you know what you are doing I advice not to play with ‘the fire’ I would start rather with moderate dosage and very short brews just then to be more bold

the story of mind/switch 2025 is that there is no mind/switch 2025 only 10 kilograms of mind/switch 2024 pressed instead in 2025, my request for this tea was lost in communication and translation so that even a mind/switch 2025 paper design was made, I thought to use it for these few cakes, as these tea cakes were born in 2025 anyhow 🙂 a good opportunity to have rested maocha for one year and press it after
