Each piece comes in a custom wooden case made to fit the tool perfectly. As every pick is individually forged, no two pieces are exactly alike—each one carries its own subtle character and marks of craftsmanship.

The pick is created by the talented blacksmith Libor Mikus, a dedicated puerh drinker for more than 20 years who has also spent time working in a tea house. His deep familiarity with compressed tea ensures the tool is designed exactly for what serious puerh drinkers need when facing dense, stubborn cakes.

The design of this piece appears simple, yet it is both beautiful and practical. Its rectangular base allows for precise penetration of hard tea cakes when used with the fingers and palm. However, caution is advised, as this small piece could easily become a “weapon.”

The pick is forged from high-quality spring steel, providing excellent strength and resilience. Forging its finely narrowing needle tip is not an easy task and requires true master craftsmanship.

Although the piece may appear simple—almost as if it were cast in a mold—it is in fact a hand-forged tool made from high-carbon spring steel, a material commonly used for knives, springs, and other durable metal implements.

The thoughtful combination of these elements results in a remarkable tool—handmade, highly functional, and distinct in both form and character.
