— story of Yiwu Tong Qing He
this tea was stored in Yunnan, Yuanjiang county and was sold by a person who was in need for money and my friend helped buying this tea, it is probably coming from not well known place in Yiwu mountain called Tong Qing He, this place is known for a very strong tea like a kind of Lao Banzhang village of Yiwu mountain, it was stored dry and has no off notes whatsover, now it is offered only as samples but might be restocked anytime soon
— tasting notes
clean opening of the first brew, no off notes of storage at all, the first real brew is prolonged and gives a rich and strong liquor like feel, the energy is punchy but at the same time calming, earthy bitternes with long lasting aftertaste and I would call it also a dark chocolate bitterness note staying in mouth for a long time, a natural energy feel throught the body, relaxing and quiet, the tea soup feel is that the tea mature, not obtrusive, a well processed and stored, a real hard find, a true overripe fruity notes (almost oolong like flavours) come later in 5-6th brew, a high minerality are sign of very old tea trees growing in a good soil and enviroment, the taste is complex and rich, revealing many layers brew by brew
it is also a rare find to find such a well processed and well stored tea from this era that has not left Yunnan province and was rather kept for one’s own drinking
